My formal career days were spent at the telephone company where I started as a telephone operator and finished as a Business Analyst and although I liked what I did, I didn't love it and after 25 years I took my retirement option and never looked back. I had taken a break in service when my children were preschoolers and enrolled in a correspondence course through the Institute of Children's Literature, 'Writing for Children and Teenagers'.
On my first home computer in 1996 I found my way into the Internet; a couple years later joined the volunteer ranks on a major women's network and shortly thereafter I began putting my writing into the hands of real women. I had found a niche in writing on topics relating to home keeping and management, gardening and organizing; I have yet to work my way into writing for children and I believe that would be most rewarding. I write a 'Top 10s' page on topics from 'Top 10 Game Shows' to 'Top 10 Candy Bars' and 'Top 10 Foods for a Good Night's Sleep'. I love weird news and write a blog called 'A Morning without Coffee?' with my primary focus being unusual news stories.
